Design Modifications Led by Lanny Wadkins
World Golf Hall of Famer Lanny Wadkins, a 21-time PGA TOUR winner and former Ryder Cup captain, brought championship insight and strategic brilliance to every aspect of the renovation. Known for enhancing shot values, strategic playability, and visual appeal, Wadkins crafts courses that challenge elite players while remaining enjoyable for all. His work at TPC Craig Ranch delivered thoughtful refinements and modern enhancements that elevate this tournament-proven course to an even higher standard.
Fairways, Roughs and Tees
Stadium Zoysia has been installed throughout all fairways and now enhances greenside collars and approaches. The roughs and tees have been upgraded with TifTuf Bermuda, a surface celebrated for its exceptional durability and lush, vibrant appearance.
Turf Enhancements to the Greens
The greens now feature 777 Bentgrass, a next-generation turf known for delivering elite-level speed, consistency, and smoothness. Specifically developed for premier courses and championship conditions, 777 Bentgrass provides exceptional density, disease resistance, and year-round performance. The result is a world-class putting surface that is both fast and true.
Irrigation and Drainage Upgrades
The course now features 2,000 new sprinkler heads and a more efficient pump station, replacing the previous system that had been in place for more than 20 years. These upgrades allow the team to optimize water distribution in less time and maintain consistent playing conditions throughout the year.
Equally important, the enhanced drainage system provides more reliable course playability and reduces the number of cart-path-only days.
